Dr. Mason Shepherd is a Licensed Psychologist, and certified School Psychologist since 2009. He earned his doctoral degree in School Psychology at the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology. Dr. Shepherd practices utilizing evidence-based treatments (e.g., Cognitive Behavior Therapy, etc.) and conducts therapy with children, adolescents, families and adults providing parent coaching, consultation, workshops and more.
Dr. Shepherd has experience working with a variety of concerns in addition to ADHD, behavioral difficulties, mood & anxiety disorders, autism spectrum disorders and he is knowledgeable regarding the administration and interpretation of psychological assessments. Dr. Shepherd has worked in several public schools (grades K – 12) in urban and suburban districts, and has taught graduate and undergraduate courses at Montclair State University as an adjunct professor since 2010.
Dr. Shepherd trained at a nationally competitive internship program, Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care, formerly known as University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), in Newark, New Jersey. His training included rotations in the pediatric emergency department, adolescent/adult partial hospitalization programs, intensive out-patient groups for children, and work with juvenile/young adult offenders at the Jamesburg Juvenile Detention Center. Dr. Shepherd also received training at Children’s Specialized Hospital, Kessler Institute of Rehabilitation and participated in a year-long autism fellowship with the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (NJLEND) program through the Boggs Center at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
